CIA: Al Qaeda in Syria America's Biggest Threat
Deputy Director of the U.S. intelligence agencies warned that the Syrian crisis provides an opportunity for Al Qaeda to flourish and become the biggest threat Washington.
As quoted Tasnim News (7/8), Michael Morell in an interview with Wall Street Journal newspaper said, the biggest danger now is when the Syrian government has chemical weapons and cutting-edge, collapsed and the country turned into a haven for Al Qaeda in exchange for Pakistan.
The closure of the U.S. embassy in most countries the Middle East and North Africa because of the threat of Al Qaeda shows that the danger of Al Qaeda will continue to exist, but the Syrian crisis has reinforced the dangers of Al Qaeda.
Morell added, "A lot of the danger that threatens national security, the most important is the Syrian crisis, the article is a lot of foreign militants into the country and join the groups affiliated to Al Qaeda."
